Choosing the Right Resolution
Every YouTube video downloader shows you a list of resolutions and leaves you to guess. Here's the honest version. 1080p is the right choice about 90% of the time. It looks sharp on a laptop, fine on a TV up to roughly 55 inches, and the file stays a manageable size. 4K only looks meaningfully different once you're on a large 4K display viewed up close, and the file is four to five times bigger for that difference. 720p is worth dropping to if you're saving straight to a phone, since you won't see the gap on a 6-inch screen and you save real storage. Anything below that is for very tight storage or a slow connection only.
| Quality | Resolution | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| 4K Ultra HD | 3840×2160 | A 4K TV or monitor, viewed up close |
| Full HD | 1920×1080 | The default choice for almost everyone |
| HD | 1280×720 | Saving to a phone, limited storage |
| SD | 854×480 | Very tight storage |
| Low | 640×360 | A slow or unstable connection |
How File Size Scales With Quality
Worth knowing before you pick a resolution: for a typical ten-minute video, 4K commonly runs 2.5 to 3.5 GB, 1080p lands around 500 to 800 MB, 720p is closer to 250 to 400 MB, and 480p drops to roughly 100 to 200 MB. Longer videos and content with a lot of motion (sports, gaming) push toward the high end of each range; static talking-head content stays smaller.
Why the Quality You Want Isn't There
The resolution list only ever shows what actually exists on YouTube's side for that video. If a channel uploaded at 1080p and never rendered a 4K version, 1080p is the genuine ceiling, not a limitation of this tool. No downloader, whatever it advertises, can reconstruct detail that was never recorded in the first place.

Is It Safe to Download YouTube Videos?
MultSaver does not install any software on your device and does not store the video you download; the file is delivered straight to you and never kept on our servers. To operate the service and enforce the daily limit, we do log basic request data (the link submitted, your IP address, and an approximate location derived from it). Full detail on exactly what is recorded is in our Privacy Policy.
On legality: downloading YouTube videos for personal offline use in regions that permit it is widely tolerated, even though YouTube's terms of service restrict it. Redistributing, re-uploading, or using downloaded content commercially without the creator's permission is a different matter and may infringe copyright law. Always respect the original creator's rights.
