What Types of Facebook Videos Can You Download?

MultSaver supports a wide range of Facebook video content. Here's what you can download:

Content Type Supported Notes
Regular Facebook videos Yes Must be publicly visible
Facebook Reels Yes Public Reels only
Facebook Live replays Yes After the live ends and is saved publicly
Active Live streams No Cannot download while broadcasting
Private / Friends-only videos No Only public content is accessible

Fixing a Link That Won't Paste Correctly

If you copied a link from the Facebook app or from m.facebook.com and it won't paste correctly, this is why: Facebook's mobile share links sometimes carry tracking parameters and shortened path formats that downloader tools can't always parse. The fix is simple. Switch your mobile browser to Desktop Site mode (in Chrome: tap the three-dot menu → Desktop site) and open the video from there. You'll get a plain facebook.com URL without the mobile wrapper, and it works reliably every time.

Getting a clean link, step by step:

  1. On desktop: click the three-dot menu (⋯) on the post and select Copy link
  2. Or click the video's timestamp/date to open it on its own page, then copy the URL from the address bar
  3. On mobile, if Share → Copy link gives you trouble, switch to Desktop Site mode first and repeat

Supported Facebook URL Formats

These URL formats work:

  • https://www.facebook.com/watch?v=1234567890
  • https://www.facebook.com/reel/1234567890
  • https://fb.watch/xxxxxxx/

HD vs SD: Which Quality Should You Choose?

Facebook videos are typically available in two qualities: HD (usually 720p) and SD (usually 360p to 480p). HD gives you a sharper image and is the better default when storage isn't a concern. SD produces a smaller file, useful on limited storage or a slow connection. Both are MP4 and play on every device.

Saving Facebook Videos on iPhone

Open this page in Safari, paste the Facebook video URL, tap Download, and choose HD or SD. Then tap and hold the download link that appears and select Download Linked File. The MP4 lands in your Files app under Downloads; from there tap the file, tap Share, and choose Save Video to move it into Photos.

Saving Facebook Videos on Android

Open this page in Chrome, paste the Facebook URL, tap Download, pick your quality, and tap Download again. The MP4 lands in your Downloads folder automatically, no extra steps needed. This works the same way on Samsung Galaxy, Pixel, Xiaomi, OnePlus, and any Android phone running version 8 or newer.

On legality: downloading a public Facebook video for personal, offline viewing in regions that permit it is generally tolerated, even though Facebook's terms of service restrict it. Redistributing, re-uploading, or using downloaded content commercially without the creator's permission may infringe copyright. Always respect the original creator's rights.
