Picking the Right Quality (Most People Overthink This)
Every downloader hands you a list of resolutions and leaves you to guess. Here's the honest guidance:
1080p: the right answer about 90% of the time
Sharp on a laptop, fine on a TV, and a sane file size (roughly 500–800 MB for ten minutes). If you don't want to think about it, pick this.
720p: when you're saving to a phone
On a 6-inch screen you genuinely cannot see the difference, and you save about a third of the space.
4K: only if you own a 4K screen
A ten-minute 4K clip can pass 3 GB. On anything smaller than about 40 inches it looks identical to 1080p. You're storing four times the data for a difference you can't see.
480p and below: emergencies only
Noticeably soft on any modern screen. Use it if storage or data is genuinely scarce.
"Why can't I select 4K?" Because the creator never uploaded it in 4K. The quality menu only ever shows what actually exists on the platform's side. No tool can invent detail that was never recorded.
When Something Goes Wrong
The file plays in the browser instead of downloading
Common on iPhone. Long-press the download link and choose Download Linked File to force it. On desktop, right-click → Save link as.
A Facebook link says "video not found"
You almost certainly copied a mobile m.facebook.com URL. Open the same video on the desktop site at facebook.com and copy that address instead. This fixes the large majority of Facebook failures.
A TikTok short link stopped working
Those vm.tiktok.com links expire. Open the video on tiktok.com in a browser and copy the full URL from the address bar.
"No video found in this post" on X
The post probably contains only a photo, plain text, or an embedded link from another site. We can only save video that X itself hosts.
The download saved, but it's not in my gallery
On iPhone, files land in Files → Downloads, not Photos. Open Files, long-press the video, tap Share → Save Video. On Android it's in your Downloads folder and the gallery usually indexes it within a minute or two.
Nothing works: the account is private
If a post isn't public, no external tool can reach it. That's expected: private content requires a logged-in follower to view, full stop.

Daily limits
MultSaver is free, but not unlimited. We cap requests per day, per IP address, for each tool. That keeps the service fast for everyone and stops automated scraping from eating the capacity. Ordinary use never comes close to the ceiling. If you do hit it, the limit resets the next day.
What we record
We want to be straight with you rather than make a vague privacy boast. To operate the service, prevent abuse, and enforce the limits above, we log basic request data: the link you submitted, the platform, whether the request succeeded, your IP address, and an approximate location derived from that IP. We do not require an account, we do not ask for your name or email, and we do not sell your data. Full detail is in our Privacy Policy.
Is downloading legal?
The honest answer is "it depends on what you do with it," and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something. Two separate things are in play:
- Platform terms of service. Most platforms' terms say you shouldn't download without their button. Breaking a site's terms is a matter between you and that site, and it isn't a crime.
- Copyright. This is the part with real teeth. The video belongs to whoever made it. Saving it to watch privately, offline, is low-risk and widely tolerated. Redistributing it, re-uploading it, or using it commercially without permission can genuinely infringe copyright.
So the simple rule: download for yourself, not to repackage someone else's work. If a creator's video is good enough to save, it's good enough to support with a view, a like, or a follow. This isn't legal advice, and laws vary by country. See our DMCA policy if you're a rights holder.
What we can't do
- Private accounts. If content isn't public, we can't reach it.
- Stories. They expire and aren't publicly indexed.
- DRM-protected content (Netflix, Prime, Disney+ and similar). We don't touch it, and we won't.
- Invent quality. If a video was uploaded at 720p, 720p is your ceiling.

Is it legal to download videos from social media?
Downloading a video to watch privately, offline, sits in a grey area that is rarely if ever enforced against individuals. The real risk begins when you redistribute content, re-upload it elsewhere, or use it commercially without the creator's permission. That can genuinely infringe copyright. Download for yourself, not to repackage someone else's work. This isn't legal advice; laws vary by country.
Is there a limit on how many videos I can download?
Yes. We cap requests per day, per IP address, for each tool. This keeps the service fast for everyone and blocks automated scraping. Everyday personal use won't come close to the ceiling. If you do reach it, it resets the next day.
Do you keep a record of what I download?
We log basic request data: the link submitted, the platform, whether it succeeded, your IP address and an approximate location from it, in order to run the service, prevent abuse, and enforce the daily limits. Do I need to install software or a browser extension?
No, and we'd advise against extensions generally. A browser extension can read everything you browse, and several "free downloader" extensions have been caught injecting ads or harvesting data. MultSaver only ever receives the single link you paste.
Why is the quality I want not listed?
Because it doesn't exist on the source. The quality menu shows only what the creator actually uploaded. If they published at 720p, that's the ceiling. No downloader can reconstruct detail that was never recorded, whatever it claims.
Can I download audio only?
Yes, for YouTube. Use the YouTube Audio Downloader. Worth knowing: YouTube stores its audio as AAC (M4A), so M4A is a direct copy, while MP3 has to be re-encoded. If you only listen on a phone, take the M4A. Choose MP3 when you need it to play on older hardware like a car stereo.
Can you download from private accounts or Stories?
No. If content isn't publicly visible, no external tool can reach it. That's an access wall, not a limitation we can engineer around. Stories also expire and aren't publicly indexed. We also don't touch DRM-protected services like Netflix or Prime Video.
